Sealed bids, subject to the conditions contained herein, for improvements to the Durango – La Plata County
Airport will be received by the City of Durango, Colorado, by and through the Grants/Contracts Division,
until Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at 3:00 pm (MT), and then publicly opened and read aloud.
The work involved will include the following:
A new pavement section shall consist of 4 inches of asphalt on 6 inches of aggregate base course on 8 inches
of compacted millings. This pavement section is designed to support fuel and deice trucks. Existing utilities
will be adjusted and/or protected in place. The approximate quantities of major bid items involved in the
proposed work are:
Base Bid:
• Install Protective Bollards – 8
• Adjust Sewer Manhole Frame and Cover to Grade – 2
• Adjust Catch Basin to Grade – 1
• Adjust Water Valve Box and Cover to Grade – 1
• Unclassified Excavation – 1,076 Cubic Yards
• Unsuitable Excavation – 245 Cubic Yards
• Compacted Millings (8-inch Depth) – 1,961 Square Yards
• Aggregate Base Course (6-inch Depth) – 1,961 Square Yards
• Asphalt Mix Pavement Surface Course (4-inch Depth) – 1,961 Square Yards
• Edge Seal – 435 Linear Feet
• Seeding with Hydromulch – 537 Square Yards
