The City of Edgewater (City) working with the Jefferson County School District (District) and
Edgewater Collective, collectively the Partnership, respectfully requests proposals from
responsible and qualified consultants to conduct an initial planning process to collaboratively
refresh the vision for PK-12 education in the Jefferson articulation area.
In the Fall of 2022, the District launched Jeffco Thrives 2025, a strategic plan to guide work
through the 2025-2026 school year. The plan has four priorities: Our Learners: Our Future; Our
People: Our Strength; Our Operations: Our Foundation; and Our Communities: Our Legacy. The
goal of Our Communities: Our Legacy, is positive, mutually respectful connections with Jeffco
families and communities that support student success. To achieve this goal, the District is
committed to fostering new, strengthening existing, and actively pursuing new community
partnerships within the Jeffco metro area. Specifically, one of District’s initiatives is to
collaborate with partners to ensure the District is responsive to the perspectives, needs and
strengths of underrepresented students, families, and communities.
The Project Partners envision a purposeful and aligned opportunity to strengthen its partnership.
The Edgewater Collective’s mission is to cultivate partnerships for thriving Edgewater
neighborhoods, schools and businesses and is currently focused on reimagining and redesigning
local education and economic systems so its historically marginalized Latino neighbors can
thrive. The City’s mission is to provide exceptional services and programs with a neighborly
commitment for all who live, work and visit Edgewater.
Learners within the District have incredible aspirations for themselves, their families, and their
communities. The Jeffco Thrives 2025 priority, Our Communities: Our Legacy, recognizes that
our learners, families, and educators have the hopes, dreams, insights, and understanding
required to shape the vision for education in their communities. In partnership, the District, The
Edgewater Collective, and the City have an opportunity to work together to reimagine how
Jefferson articulation areas schools can support the aspirations of our young people, families, and
educators into the future.
Students, families, and schools will benefit from an intentional partnership between the District,
The Edgewater Collective, and the City, that explores the future of education, PK-12, in the
Jefferson articulation area.
The Partnership’s vision is to:
Allow our entities to combine resources and seek additional resources to have a greater
impact
Broaden our reach to attract additional community organizations that share our goals
Leverage our unique strengths and expertise
epen authentic connections in the community that give community members a sense of
responsibility and ownership and encourages them to take a more active role in
supporting Jefferson articulation area schools and contributing their knowledge,
expertise, and passion aligned to the goals of the partnership
To support the work of this partnership, each of the entities will contribute in the following
ways:
City: Issue the RFP; Contract and administrate consultant, provide financial management
for the project, provide contacts for city leaders, funding
Edgewater Collective: Partner with the facilitating organization to provide context and
review on pre-meetings with each partner, session design and material preparation, and
meeting follow-up and supporting documents.
District: Locations; contacts for leaders, teachers, families, parents, funding
