IFB-12-026 - Bulk Methanol

Summary of Specifications:
The Littleton/Englewood Wastewater Treatment Plant (Englewood, CO) is requesting proposals to provide bulk methanol to the treatment facility for the year 2013. The successful firm will provide bulk methanol for denitrification complex, utilizing the product as a bacterial food stock in the removal of nitrates from wastewater. Based on the last twelve months of operation, the average monthly consumption of methanol in the process is approximately 200,000 gallons per year. Methanol use is determined by seasonal discharge permit requirements. Recent experience has shown the City may not process any methanol orders from approximately May 1 through August 31 as the City can meet its discharge requirements with existing processes. However, new discharge permit limitations may require year-round supply, reflected in this consumption estimate.
