IFB-16-025 - Bulk Methanol

The Littleton/Englewood Wastewater Treatment Plant (L/E WWTP) is requesting quotes to provide bulk methanol for the treatment facility for the calendar year 2017. The successful firm will provide bulk methanol, year-round, for the denitrification complex, utilizing the product as a bacterial food stock for the removal of nitrates from wastewater.  Methanol use is determined by seasonal discharge permit requirements and a minimum quantity is not guaranteed.  Based on the last twelve months of operation and draft discharge requirements (not yet published), the consumption of methanol in the treatment process is estimated to be approximately 200,000 gallons per year.
