Summary of Specifications:
This Request for Proposal (RFP) is issued for the City of Grand Junction (Owner) on behalf of the Grand Junction Police Records Division. The purpose of this RFP is to obtain proposals from qualified professional firms to provide conversion of microfilm to digital storage. Microfilm archives of Grand Junction Police Department (GJPD) case reports comprise records between 1949 and 1995 totaling 704 3M 16mm cartridges containing an average of 2,200 images each. The documents are permanent records of the City of Grand Junction. At this time GJPD is unable to access these records because the software used to operate the hardware equipment and print microfilm is obsolete. Some of the rolls are degrading and require service calls from a local vendor. The microfilm industry is diminishing due to obsolescence of the media.
