The City is seeking a Planner Consultant (“Consultant”), which may work on-site (City Center North), or remotely, according to the City’s policies and the Department staffing needs and /or City COVID office restrictions. The Planner would work under the direction of the Deputy Director of Community Development. The Consultant will provide the range of expertise necessary to carry out the normal functions of a professional planner. The Planner position shall be performed by individuals who meet the qualifications, education as a professional planner at the Senior Planner level, with a minimum of 6 years’ experience, and an American Institute of Certified Planner (AICP) is preferred. The City will, based on qualifications presented in the response to this RFP, select the firm(s) or team best able to provide planning services for upcoming private and City initiated projects. The successful firm / team shall also have the resources to provide cost effective and timely services to the City. Additionally, the City has an option to interview the selected firm’s candidate who will provide On-Call services. In an event that staffing changes are necessary to the assigned on-call staff member, any new assigned on-call staff may be reviewed and interviewed by the Deputy Director of Community Development, prior to any formal changes by the Consulting firm.
