F23-01-002 - Utility Billing Services

Currently the City has approximately 29,000 utility billing customers which are billed on a monthly basis, but the City is growing rapidly and this number will increase. This figure includes customers with multi-billed accounts (E.g., apartment complexes, management companies, and rental property owners). Approximately 1,000 – 3,000 customer bills will be sent each billing day to the vendor by 5:00 p.m. If we select a vendor to print bills, the file will be created by our billing system (Sunguard Public Sector Community Plus) and will be sent in PDF format. There are 21 billing days per month, but the City is installing AMI meters that will likely lessen the billing cycles/days. The City requires that the bills be postmarked and mailed within 24 hours upon receipt of the file.
