IFB-MD-18109-BD-F - Bonus Ditch Pump Station on St. Vrain Creek

SPECIAL NOTE:
In order to comply with FEMA regulations, the City of Longmont entered into an agreement with the Bonus Ditch Company to assist with this project by facilitating the procurement process, as well as the construction management after award.  The contract for the project will be executed between the awarded Contractor and the Bonus Ditch Company.
 
SCOPE OF WORK:
This project involves installation of the Bonus Ditch intake structure and pump station on St. Vrain Creek. This project replaces the Bonus Ditch diversion on St. Vrain Creek which was catastrophically destroyed in the September 2013 Flood. Project improvements include, but are not limited to:

• Clearing and grubbing, excavation, salvage of material as noted on the Plans, and general site grading;
• Tree removal and tree protection as noted on the Plans;
• Water control; river handling and stormwater pollution control;
• Construction of a reinforced concrete intake structure with wingwalls founded on drilled piers; and associated slide gates, trash racks, grates and guardrails;
• Installation of grouted boulder sediment cleanout sump, grouted boulder sandout channel, and rock work as noted on the Plans;
• Installation of a submersible pump, discharge piping, flow meter and concrete vault, and connection manhole;
• Installation of electrical services;
• Irrigation system protection and improvements;
• Installation of concrete trail and CL6 road base access;

1. Qualified contractors shall have successfully completed the construction of at least one (1) qualifying project of similar scope and complexity to this irrigation diversion project within the last five (5) years. Projects of similar scope and complexity shall include in-stream channel work requiring water control, rock excavation, riprap and grouted riprap structures and structural concrete construction. Project(s) shall be listed as one of three projects of similar nature when completing Attachment D – Bidder’s Comparable Project Data form, included with the Bid Submittal Documents. Any Bidder that fails to comply with this requirement will be considered non-responsive.
2. The Contractor’s representative who is directly responsible for managing the project and the Contractor’s on-site representative who has immediate charge on a daily basis shall each have satisfactorily completed the same responsibilities on at least one (1) qualifying project of similar scope and complexity in the last five (5) years. Contractor’s representative(s) shall be listed as one of the principal members when completing the Attachment F – Bidder’s Officials and Key Personnel Data form, included with the Bid Submittal Documents. Any Bidder that fails to comply with this requirement will be considered non-responsive
3. Qualifying projects must have been performed principally by the Contractor’s own forces. Work performed principally by other contractors or subcontractors will not be considered as qualifying.
