The City of Longmont requests proposals from experienced moving companies to palletize and transport museum artifacts from a facility currently leased by the City to a new permanent storage facility. Movers must handle the artifacts with extreme care to preserve the historic value of each piece and mitigate damage. The exact timing of the move is dependent on the completion of construction of the new storage facility; however, the City anticipates that the move will begin prior to the end of the first quarter of 2018. Summary of Minimum Mandatory Qualifications:
•Must be insured.
•Must have experience moving museum artifacts.
•Employees of contractor assigned to this job must have passed background check performed by the moving company.
•Staff assigned to this job must speak and understand English.

Event Note

The City will host a mandatory Pre-Proposal Conference. Following the Conference, a mandatory site visit will commence to the current leased facility and then the new permanent facility site. The City will distribute directions to each site at the Pre-Proposal Conference. Both facilities are within five miles of the Civic Center. City staff estimate the conference and site visit will require a total of two hours. The City will only consider proposals from offerors that attend both the mandatory pre-proposal conference and site visit.
