The contractor will not provide long-term mental health therapy, but rather utilize a short-term solution focused model. The expectation is that the professional will help identify client strengths and subsequent community resources that could help clients reach their goals. The focus should be on using a proactive approach to meeting clients where they are at, even if they are reluctant to seek assistance. Contractor should establish rapport and identify client strengths. The same strengths-based approach should be used in providing education and resources to program staff. Contractors need to be flexible about meeting with clients as meetings could be in their office or at various locations.
