IFB-MD-18002 - Ute Creek Retaining Walls Rehabilitation

PLEASE NOTE: Bidder attendance at the pre-bid meeting site visit are MANDATORY.  Bidders must sign in at both locations using the company name that will be used on the bid form when submitting their bid. This will be the only time the City will conduct a showing of the project site.  Bidders must be on time to the mandatory pre-bid meeting. Bidders will not be allowed to sign in to the meeting once we start discussing the scope of work.

SCOPE: The work performed under this Contract includes the removal of a portion of each of the two Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) walls and re-installation of the MSE walls within the removed areas with new geogrid reinforcement, a drainage system, and new backfill. Items included in this work include, but are not limited to, deconstruction of portions of each of the two retaining walls, excavation, installation of MSE walls with geogrid anchor systems, perforated pipe drainage systems, 5” minimum concrete slope paving for the walls, and removing and resetting pedestrian pipe railing, and 6 inch thick sidewalk. The Contractor shall supply all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to complete the work in accordance with these specifications.

BID CONDITIONS: The City of Longmont is seeking qualified Contractors with applicable experience
comparable to the City of Longmont Ute Creek Retaining Walls Rehabilitation Project. The Contractor must have satisfactorily completed at least two (2) MSE wall repair works in similar nature and scale to this project. The MSE wall contractor shall have documentable experience of installing a minimum of 10,000 square feet of MSE walls over the previous three (3) years.
The Contractor must self perform a minimum of 50% of all project work. The Contractor shall self perform all work directly related to the MSE retaining walls, including, but not limited to, wall excavation, deconstruction of the walls, backfilling, compaction, installation of geogrid, and installation of block units and capstones. 
The Contractor’s superintendent shall have successful experience of a minimum of two MSE wall repair works in similar nature and scale to this project.
