Summary of Specifications:
Louisville City Hall is approximately 17,800 square feet and has an existing fire sprinkler system limited to a small area of the second floor. The goal of this project is to provide a sprinkler system that covers the entire facility. For the IT server room, an inert gas system will be priced as an alternate. The building is fed by a 4” fire water line and has a new backflow preventer. Contractor will provide the following: • Design and install a complete automatic sprinkler system in compliance with NFPA 13 2010 • Alternate pricing for the design and installation of an inert gas system for the IT server room (170 square feet area) • .Work includes all engineering, hydraulic calculations and system design. Plans will be subjected to a third party review. Any changes or costs required as a result of the review will be included in the bid. • Plans for system design must be stamped by an appropriate design professional • Sprinkler heads will be flush or semi-recessed • All piping in areas of the building with drop ceiling must be concealed • All piping that is exposed will be black iron • All required tamper and flow switches as necessary to interface with monitoring system as required • Scope of work shall include system installation, plumbing, notification valves, cutting, patching and painting as necessary • Work will be scheduled to minimize disruption of City Hall personnel. To accomplish this some work areas have been identified as requiring installation “afterhours”.
