Description

1.0 PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The project includes a variety of waterline work in Boyd Lake Avenue. Primarily the project
encompasses the extension of a 16” PVC waterline (~750’) that will serve as a parallel pump station
discharge to a City of Loveland pressure zone. The bulk of the 16” waterline installation will be a
directionally drilled waterline beneath Boyd Lake Avenue. At the south end of the directional drill a 16”
plug will be removed to connect to the existing waterline. On the north side of the directional drill, the
project will be terminated with a 16” valve and air vacuum valve on the new 16” water main and a crossconnection to the existing parallel 16” water main. Additionally the project includes an 16” PVC
waterline stub for a future development to the west.

Additional Bidding Instructions

To be considered a responsive bidder, the bidder must submit references for at least four (4)
water line projects the bidder has completed within the last five (5) years for projects equal in
size (lengths, costs, etc.) and complexity to the water line replacements proposed under this
project. The bidder’s referenced projects should demonstrate the bidder’s experience installing
16” diameter pipe, or larger, at similar depths and under similar conditions. The submittal shall
include a brief description of the project, city, state, year constructed, cost, owner name and
contact information, and design engineer name and contact information. The Horizontal
Directional Drill sub-contractor has additional requirements as outlined in Section 02411. Bids
submitted without references will be deemed nonresponsive and will not be considered.
