Description

The Traffic Operations Division of the Public Works Department is interested in acquiring and installing an adaptive traffic signal system for the corridor of Crossroads Blvd. in northeast Loveland. The proposed corridor includes three existing signals (at Clydesdale, Centerra/Fairgrounds, and Ward). The proposed adaptive system shall adjust, in real time, signal timing plans based on the current traffic conditions, demand, and system capacity. Selection of traffic-responsive patterns or purely actuated (free or coordinated) types of traffic control shall not be sufficient. The proposed adaptive system shall include algorithms that adjust a signal’s split, offset, phase length, and phase sequences to minimize delays and reduce the number of stops.
