Summary of Specifications:
The City of Loveland is soliciting SOQs from qualified contractors who desire to bid on the City’s Library Expansion & Remodel Project. This process is being used because the City believes the Project is large and complicated enough to warrant specific contractor qualifications. The City will short-list approximately 5 to 10 contractors that the City deems, in the City’s judgment, to be most qualified to perform the required work. In no case will fewer than 3 or more than 10 contractors be selected for the short list. The City will send the Invitation to Bid to the short-listed contractors. Only short-listed contractors will be allowed to submit bids for this Project. The City intends to award the bid to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder who, in the City’s judgment, will best serve the City’s interests. The City of Loveland Library Expansion & Remodel Project will add approximately 25,000 sq. ft. to the existing building, which is approximately 32,000 sq. ft. The Project will also include extensive remodeling to the existing building, including a new main entrance, and a two-story expansion on the north and west sections of the building. The existing building is part of the City’s Civic Center Campus, which was created in 1986-1987. Special design emphasis has been made to ensure that the expanded Library will fit nicely with the overall Campus.
