Description

The City of Cañon City, Colorado (City) is seeking to deploy geographically redundant and future-proof, high-speed broadband internet connectivity to all residents and businesses in the greater Cañon City area through a public/private partnership. The objective is to build a geographically redundant, city-owned (public) fiber-optic ring to include one or two carrier neutral locations (to be determined), that provide the backbone for a build out (private) of direct fiber services to businesses and residents in the greater Cañon City area, including adjacent county neighborhoods to the north and south of the Cañon City limits. In addition to building out the public fiber ring, the chosen provider or partnership of providers will assist the City in the development and annual management of the middle mile fiber ring around the community.
