Description

Proposal Background:

The City of Leadville is requesting bids for the construction and installation of a portion of sidewalks within the City limits along HWY 24. The purpose of this section is to connect into the recently completed Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) sidewalk ramp connections and to also link the historic Harrison Ave retail core with the commercial zone off HWY 24. The Sections are 9th Street-12th Streets Adjacent to Poplar/Colorado HWY 24 in Leadville, Colorado. The section specifications are indicated below; however, we anticipate the need for a 2% overage for roughly 560 linear feet of concrete sidewalk.

Design Specifications:

9th to 10th along Poplar, East side: 207' length, 4" thick x 6' wide, mesh and 1/2" rebar, w/6" wide curb entire length, depth of curb varying between 4" and 12"
10th to 11th along Poplar, East side: 100' length, 4" thick x 5' wide, mesh and 1/2" rebar, w/ 6" wide faux curb entire length, 4" deep
11th to 12th along Poplar, East side: 247' length, 4" thick x 5' wide, mesh and 1/2" rebar w/6" wide faux curb entire length, 4" deep.
Installation of CDOT MNS compliant ramps where required.
All sidewalk installation will meet CDOT MNS specifications for grade and will meet and connect to existing ADA installed ramps at each intersection.

Bids should include proposals for the projected amounts of the project cost for all materials and labor to meet the specifications above.
Bid should include a detailed traffic control plan and all associated costs for the administration of the traffic control plan, as required by CDOT in the bid package. These standards are attached to this IFB as a supplemental document.
Bid will take into consideration and specifications for installation of the new sidewalks in conformance with the CDOT M&S Standards. These standards are attached to this IFB as a supplemental document.
Submission must include detailed terms and any other pertinent information for consideration.

A walk through can be scheduled prior to March 29th, 2021 with each potential bidder.
