RFP-EDX-21-162 - Retail Strategy

To ensure the City can support and retain existing retail businesses, complement Focus Area retail strategies, and, at the same time, attract retailers for vacant or new retail spaces in key target areas, the City needs to better understand the socioeconomic characteristics and needs of the existing market as well as the new retail and restaurant demand and demand shifts created post COVID-19.

The City has an objective to create and retain a healthy retail mix, in order to maintain and improve their resilience, competitiveness, and viability. The City is committed to supporting its existing businesses through a variety of services and incentive programs, including recent COVID-19 support programs. The City seeks to evaluate the effectiveness of those programs and identify additional opportunities to support local businesses.
