OVERVIEW AND BACKGROUND
As a part of the development of the 2050 Statewide Transportation and Transit Plan, CDOT is looking to implement a set of 9 Telephone Town Hall events to allow the public to learn and participate in the plan development process by speaking directly to Colorado Transportation Commissioners from their area. Town Halls can be a convenient way for the public to participate in the planning process from home. Colorado Transportation Commissioners will serve as townhall hosts and CDOT Regional Transportation Directors will serve as co-hosts. Other CDOT HQ and Regional staff members will also be present to assist with responding to questions from the public.
CDOT staff, in coordination with a town hall contractor, will take a diversified approach to advertise each town hall event in order to maximize stakeholder participation. Advertising techniques include print ads in local newspapers, flyers, press releases, public service announcements, pitches to local radio and television, e-mail blasts, and social media, all of which will help to notify a wide range of potential participants.
