Separate sealed bids for PERRY PARK ROAD TRAFFIC SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS, DOUGLAS COUNTY PROJECT NUMBER TF 2020-023, CDOT PROJECT NUMBER SHO 105A-016 (24305), will be received by the Owner, Douglas County Government, Department of Public Works Engineering, Philip S. Miller Building, 100 Third Street, Suite 220, Castle Rock, CO 80104, until Tuesday, August 9, at 2:00 p.m. This project consists of construction of widened asphalt shoulders and guardrails on a portion of Perry Park Road north of Red Rock Drive, and installation of rumble strips on Perry Park Road from Wolfensberger Road to the Douglas County line. The project includes hot mix asphalt, aggregate base course, guardrail type 3, pavement marking paint, rumble strip grinding, along with erosion control, traffic control, and associated items.
An EEO-1 Report(s) must be submitted to the Joint Reporting Committee if the contractor and subcontractors meet the eligibility requirements (29 CFR 1602.7). The Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goal of thirteen percent (13%) has been established for this Project. Douglas County, in accordance with the
provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252, 42 US.C. §§ 2000d to 2000d-4) and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprise will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award. The Contract Goal for the minimum number of totals On the Job Training required for this Project is 200 hours.
The contractor awarded a contract for this Project shall name CDOT and Douglas County as an “additional insured” on its general liability and automobile liability policies.
The Contract Documents will be available after 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 11, 2022, through Rocky Mountain E-Purchasing System Website (www.rockymountainbidsystem.com) or they may be obtained at the above address. Electronic versions of the Plans obtained by any other means than as described above may not be complete or accurate, and it is the Bidder’s responsibility to obtain a complete set of the Project Plans and Specifications. Douglas County will not be held responsible for misinformation received from private plan rooms.
A pre-bid conference will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at the Department of Public Works Engineering, Philip S. Miller Building, 100 Third Street, Suite 220, Castle Rock, CO 80104. All questions are due to Daniel R. Roberts, P.E., Project Engineer by 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26, 2022. The Bid Opening will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at the same address. Bids will only be accepted by pre-qualified bidders who attend the Pre-Bid Conference.
The Project includes the following major items and approximate quantities:
- 2,168 tons of hot mix asphalt
- 1,896 tons of aggregate base course
- 4,425 linear feet of guardrail type 3
- 1,690 gallons of pavement marking paint
- 254,770 linear feet of rumble strip grinding
Prior to submitting a Bid Proposal, Bidders shall have received prequalification status (active status) with the Colorado Department of Transportation to bid on individual projects of the size and kind of work as set forth herein.
