17-050 - Akers Fleet Building Refurbishment Project

The El Paso County, Colorado (County) Public Works Department Fleet Maintenance Section is seeking written “best value bids” from qualified, experienced contractors to provide all labor, materials and equipment necessary for refurbishment of the Akers Fleet Building per following scope of work located at 3275 Akers Drive, Colorado Springs, CO.
 
The Fleet Management Section employees maintain, service and repairs over 1,000 vehicles, equipment and attachments ranging from landscaping, snow removal, specialized, agricultural and construction equipment and medium/heavy trucks and trailers owned by El Paso County.  The Akers fleet facility was built in 1996.  It has been several years since anything has been done to improve the conditions inside the vehicle service bays. Construction of the building is concrete slab floor with trench drains, exterior CMU walls and the roof is precast concrete double tees with sprayed on insulation The County would like a major clean-up of the facility and equipment improvements to the area.
