Description

El Paso County is soliciting responses from qualified Contractors to furnish all materials and labor as necessary for the installation of automated gate systems for two (2) gates at the Calhan Yards, with an option of replacement of the gate system at the Transportation Complex on Akers Drive. Work is anticipated to be completed between September 15, 2023, and December 31, 2023.
The El Paso County Department of Public Works (DPW) has several operational “yards” throughout the County. This allows operators and equipment to be better located to serve the areas for which they are responsible. Each of these sites are currently secured by lock and chain which requires operators, and other County employees, to lock and unlock each time they enter or leave the yard. To increase efficiency and productivity, DPW is requesting to have automated gate systems installed.

A pre-proposal conference will be held on July 26, 2023 @ 11:00 a.m. at the Calhan Yard located at 1010 Golden Street, Calhan, CO 80808, and Charles Brown Transportation Complex located at 3275 Akers Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80922 to discuss the Specifications. A representative of the Contractor is encouraged to attend this conference in order to become familiar with the Specifications. The proposal conference will begin at the Calhan Yard, and we will then travel to the Charles Brown Transportation Complex.
