El Paso County is soliciting responses from qualified Consultants to furnish all materials and labor as necessary for the Central Colorado Foodshed Partnership Consultant for El Paso County Public Health Department.
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Regional Food Systems Partnership Grant was awarded to El Paso County Public Health (EPCPH) to build a stronger regional food systems. Our region includes El Paso, Fremont, and Pueblo Counties. We have gathered a considerable volume of qualitative data and need to bring that information together to align with other deliverables, including developing an implementation plan and a strategic communications plan.
The Partnership’s strategic objective is to establish a baseline understanding of our food system; inventory and catalog farms and ranches within the tri-county region; conduct farmer, food access, and consumer awareness focus groups; conduct a food system resilience assessment; utilize developmental evaluation approaches; plan and host the Central Coloradan (CC) Foodshed Summit; and develop a strategic action plan. As a result, our foodshed stakeholders will gain knowledge, connection, and collaboration opportunities. Additionally, we will establish the connective infrastructure to plan an annual convening and to sustain communication across sectors, priming our region for future infrastructure development. This project has been broken down into two phases. The first phase is complete and consists of information gathering. The second phase is what we are seeking a consultant to assist with.
