El Paso County is soliciting bids from qualified, experienced, professional Contractors to furnish all materials, labor, and equipment necessary for Construction of the Doe Creek Court Drainage Improvements Project, which generally includes rework of the Meadows Filing No.3 development’s roadside ditch system, including grading and excavation of ditches, removals and installations of concrete check dams and driveway culverts, and stabilization of the ditch system.
The Doe Creek Court Drainage Improvements Project is located approximately 2 miles northwest of Falcon, Colorado in El Paso County, and is located adjacent to three roadways: Towner Avenue, Twin Fawn Way, and Doe Creek Court. The existing roadway ditch system is approximately 3,000 linear feet in length; it includes 20 concrete check dam structures and access to eight private properties with individual driveways and culverts. The drainage system extends down a dedicated drainage channel approximately 575 linear feet to its outfall point through five existing check dam structures. Drainage issues stemming from sediment filling the ditch(es) and flows undercutting the check dam structures have resulted in the need to remove and replace existing drainage facilities to facilitate flows through the system and its outfall. The system is not within a designated FEMA 100-year floodplain of the Falcon Drainage Basin (CHWS1400).
