El Paso County Planning and Community Development Department (PCD) is seeking written proposals from qualified contractors to conduct on-call nuisance abatement services, such as rubbish and weed/brush removal, to bring properties into compliance with El Paso County ordinances, rules, and regulations as well as any applicable court orders.
The Code Enforcement division for PCD has the ability to request administrative entry and seizure warrants from the Courts in order to abate violations of El Paso County Ordinance Nos. 18-01, 18-02, and 18-03. Once a warrant is granted, Code Enforcement must use a contractor to complete the cleanup of properties within the timeframe specified by the warrant. Services will be on an "as-needed" basis.
The cleanups consist of removal of rubbish (trash, junk, etc.), mowing and removal of weeds and landscaping debris, and removal of unsafe buildings. The number of properties El Paso County will require services on will vary year to year. El Paso County will provide administrator support to the selected contractor during each abatement, which will include coordinating with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office during abatements, if needed, as determined by El Paso County staff. The services requested is on an as-needed basis as determined by El Paso County.
