RFP-15-034 - Range Lead Remediation Services

Summary of Specifications:
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (County) is seeking proposals from qualified vendors for lead removal, soil stabilization and berm restoration at the Public Safety Training Facility (shooting range) located at 5695 South Academy Boulevard, Colorado Springs, CO 80906. 

Additionally, due to ambient moisture freezing in the winter months, at times the berms become very hard and occasional “splash back” issues are noted. In 2012, county’s contractor MT2 mixed a secondary medium, “wood chips”, into ranges 1 and 3, however, we did not experience a significant reduction in splash back. The County is seeking another remedy to this problem, to include mixing a secondary medium (rubber mulch, etc.) into the current sand/soil combination to soften the berms especially during freezing temperatures. This topic would be discussed during site inspection or final RFP questions.
