RFP-23897 - E-rate Advanced Firewall Project

Summary of Specifications:
The District’s internet usage continues to increase with growing use of online educational and business resources. The proliferation of BYOD devices along with the increasing demands for internet bandwidth as required by commonly used internet resources is driving new internet edge capacity requirements at rates greater than in past years. Additionally, the District is improving internet access redundancy with the addition of a second data center and corresponding internet connection. The District has engineered an active/active internet design that will utilize both internet connections and thus require additional firewalls. An upgrade to the internet edge firewall equipment used by the District will be required during the 2016-2017 school year to maintain current service levels and address new needs. The District is seeking responses for firewalls with advanced security options for our two internet edge connections. The District is currently looking at two firewall options and will only award the option that the District determines to be in its best interest. RFP 23896 – E-rate Basic Firewall Project is out for proposal concurrent with this RFP 23897 – Advanced Firewall Project.
