18-012-3215 - Level of Service, Highway Capacity Analysis Study

The La Plata County Public Works Department is seeking a qualified transportation engineering consultant to complete a Level of Service (LOS) - Roadway Capacity study for 640 miles of county maintained roads, 221 miles of two lane paved and 419 miles of gravel roads.  La Plata County, located in southwest Colorado, has experienced significant growth since the 1970’s resulting in increased pressure on our roadway network.  With limited revenues to address capacity improvements and with continued growth across the county, there is a need to establish a metric by which to manage rural growth concurrent with the County’s capacity to improve roads.
