Summary of Specifications:
OWNER BACKGROUND Mapleton Public Schools (“MPS”) covers 25 square-miles and serves suburban, rural, and light industrial communities in the north Denver/Thornton area. The District serves more than 8,000 preschool through 12th grade students each day in 15 schools, including one online school. Most school sites are more than 40 years old, and in need of extensive renovation. MPS is committed to raising expectations, providing choices for learning and removing obstacles for all students so that we can guarantee that each student is empowered to "achieve his or her dreams and contribute to his or her community, country and world. Mapleton’s aging facilities continue to pose challenges for a full small-by-design implementation. Addressing our facility needs and providing the safe and secure buildings our students and community deserve requires additional resources. To continue to uphold our mission and provide for the needs of Mapleton’s children, we will be submitting an application for BEST Grant funds in hope of be awarded between $4-$15 million dollars. In addition Mapleton will ask voters to approval a bond and mill levy increase in November 2016 to support new construction, improve, equip and provide improvements to District facilities.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Based on funds secured the primary focus for Mapleton Public Schools is to build a new K-12 Global Campus located at 7480 Conifer Rd. Denver, CO 80221 and the eventual demolition of the current site when the new campus is complete. The secondary focus will be additions at Valley View 660 W. 70th Ave. Denver, CO 80221. Other site may be considered as well.
RFQ/P OBJECTIVE The purpose of this RFQ is to solicit a Qualified Owner Representative (Candidate) to contract with the Owner and also work closely with the CDE to provide customary owner’s representative services for the pre-construction, construction, and post-occupancy phases of the project. In addition to providing customary Owner’s Representative/Construction Management Advisor services, the Candidate will be responsible for ensuring the district’s compliance with the terms of the BEST Grant, and the Sublease and Site Lease requirements therein, throughout the course of the project.
