Summary of Specifications:
The Mesa County Valley School District 51 (DISTRICT 51) desires bids for an Identity and Access Management system (IAM).
Mesa County Valley School District 51 (DISTRICT 51) is one of the largest school districts in the state of Colorado and the largest on the western slope of Colorado. DISTRICT 51 is like most similar-sized school districts that have a growing need for process improvement. The District experiences a large amount of staff and student changes, making management of user accounts during all times of the year a time consuming challenge. DISTRICT 51 accounts include over 21,000 students, 2.900 staff and also parents needing access to various aspects of district data. These numbers cause frequent movement, addition, and termination of employees and students at schools and other sites, and it has become increasingly difficult to administer access to the major enterprise applications run by the District.
Compounding issues; the proliferation of manual processes for on-boarding and access control, integration issues and other tactical challenges lead to consequential challenges:
• System Access Retained after Role/Department Change • High Help-Desk Cost • Sensitive Employee or Student Data at Risk • Incorrect Access Level Assignment
A centralized, scalable and automated solution becomes a must. The District wishes to deploy an Identity and Access Management framework/solution that is flexible and extensible to automate end user access control, which includes provisioning, de-provisioning and maintenance, to all District key applications including, but not limited to the Student Information System (Edupoint Synergy), Active Directory, SharePoint 2013, Exchange 2013, Lync 2013, a pending (not yet selected) VoIP system, Extent Enrich, and SunGard BusinessPLUS.
