This project will include demolition and removal of existing playground equipment and wood chip safety surfacing, as well as installation of selected playground equipment and safety surfacing for turnkey operation. All necessary excavation, grading, drainage, fill, compaction, etc. is the responsibility of the Contractor. The playground equipment and PIP safety surfacing shall be installed per manufacturer’s specifications and in accordance with all national playground safety standards. Lovell Park is located along E. Hahns Peak Avenue and is northwest of Liberty Point Elementary School in Pueblo West, Colorado. A Vicinity Map of the area with the playground area identified is attached as Attachment A. The intent of this project is to bring a new, modern and fresh playground design that provides a variety of play elements for children ranging in age from 5-12 years. The primary intent for this project is to replace aging playground equipment that has reached its anticipated lifespan. The new play structures will create a more attractive and safer neighborhood amenity for the residents of Pueblo West. Replacing the current surfacing with poured in place safety surfacing will enhance ADA accessibility and the overall appearance of the park. The attached existing swing area and pit are to remain in place. Vendors are encouraged to present a variety of different playground designs and themes in their proposals.The District has $180,000 budgeted for the Lovell Park Playground Renovation Project. Therefore, please keep the budget in mind when submitting a proposal. Interested parties must submit one or more designs for consideration.
