NS0047 - Farm to School

Purpose of Bid:
Thompson School District (TSD) manages a self-operated Nutrition Services (NS) Department. The NS department provides meal services for thirty three (33) locations in Loveland & Berthoud including elementary, middle, and high schools. There are approximately 16,000 students enrolled at these locations and the NS department serves roughly 7,000 lunches per day. The NS department is encouraging healthy food choices and seeks vendors who support healthy food choices. TSD is seeking fruits and vegetables from producers within a 400 mile radius of Loveland, CO in order to provide our student population healthy, sustainably produced, and regionally sourced foods through the National School Lunch Program and our school meal programs.
