General Description – The work to be performed under this contract consists of saw cutting the existing concrete pavement 24” from flowline on the outside curb, and 12” on the inside medians, and the removal of existing concrete pavement. The placement of class 6 recycled concrete base, and asphalt pavement. The removal and replacement of existing concrete including crosspans, sidewalk, curb and gutter, and curb ramps. The contractor will be required to coordinate construction activities with adjacent businesses, trash removal companies, school district, HOA, Metro Districts, and other Town maintenance projects if applicable. The contract shall be awarded based on bids received and the contract documents. The Contractor shall supply all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to complete the work in accordance with these specifications. Contractor shall acquire all Town of Castle Rock and State of Colorado stormwater permits as applicable, approved TESC plans will be provided after notice of award is issued. All irrigation repairs shall be coordinated with the HOA, and adjacent property owners as applicable. The contractor shall commence work no later than three (3) calendar days from, and including, the date of the Notice to Proceed, and be ‘construction complete’ (punchlist items, cleanup, and demobilize) no later than July 31, 2020. If “Construction Completion” is not issued within the allotted contract time for the original scope of work, “Liquidated Damages” shall be assessed. When contract work is complete, the contractor shall commence work on punchlist items, cleanup, and demobilizing regardless of contract time remaining. Work on the project shall take place between April 6, 2020 and July 31, 2020. The intersection of Meadows Parkway and Meadows Blvd./Prairie Hawk Dr., shall be completed (except top mat paving) prior to beginning work on additional reconstruction phases. Concrete Pavement Restoration work on Meadows Blvd., between Elegant St. and N. Meadows Dr., shall take place after May 25, 2020 and completed by July 31, 2020. Saw cutting can be performed concurrently on multiple phases. Existing concrete pavement removal, subgrade preparation, and the bottom mat of asphalt pavement can only be performed on one phase at a time. Top mat of asphalt pavement shall be completed after completion of the bottom mat of asphalt pavement on all phases. A schedule of sequencing of all work shall be submitted at or before the project pre-construction meeting, and approved by the Town prior to issuance of Notice to Proceed.
