Summary of Specifications:
The Town of Mead (OWNER) will receive sealed Bids for the construction of the Area Trails Project, Phase 2 project until 4 P.M., July 21, 2014 at the temporary Mead Town Hall, 4155 Mulligan Drive, Mead, CO 80542 (970) 535-4477, attention Linda Blackston, Clerk. Bids shall be clearly marked "Town of Mead – Area Trails Project, Phase 2". The bids will be publicly opened at 4:15 pm on July 21, 2014 at Rocky Mountain Building, 4311 Hwy 66, Mead, CO 80504 (north of 7-11 Convenience Store at Hwy. 66 and Mead Street). A Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held at Camelot RV Storage Center, 4075 Camelot Circle, Mead, CO 80504 (in the I-25 Business Park, north of Highway 66) on July 8, 2014 at 9 a.m. A site walk of the location for the new Area Trails Project, Phase 2 will follow the pre-bid conference for any interested parties. The work will include all necessary labor, supervision, equipment, tools, and materials to construct a new sidewalk within the public right-of-way and easements. The sidewalk is to be constructed on the west side of County Road 7 between Welker Avenue and Adams Avenue. The Base Bid of the project consists of all work from Station 36+50 to Station 63+00, the portion in Range View Estates. The sidewalk is 6” thick typically and 8” thick in driveways and vehicle accesses. Additionally, there is an Alternate Bid which consists of all work from Station 10+00 to Station 36+50, with sidewalk at the same thickness requirements. The Town is obtaining the right-of-way to build in this area. Bids also include storm pipe culverts at drainage ditches, street striping and signage for a pedestrian crosswalk, and local traffic control, coordination with Town staff for street sign relocation, and roadside regrading and repair as needed. A non-refundable deposit of $75 will be required. Overnight mailing of Bidding Documents can be provided. No Bid will be received unless accompanied by a cashier’s, certified or bank check or a Bid Bond equal to at least ten percent of the maximum Bid, payable to the OWNER as a guarantee that after a Bid is accepted, Bidder will execute and file the Agreement and 100% Performance and Payment Bonds within ten days after the Notice of Award. The Town of Mead reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive any technicality, and to accept any Bid which it deems advantageous.
