The Erie Singletrack at Sunset Open Space is a network of downhill singletrack trails that were originally constructed by a volunteer group. The Town of Erie took over maintenance of the trail system in 2018. Since then, trail repairs and general maintenance are completed monthly. These operations include fixing break bumps, armoring sections of trails, and improving drainage. However, Town staff do not possess the skill set to make significant improvements to the design of the trails or features that will reduce long-term maintenance. The Town of Erie would like to utilize the services of a professional singletrack trail maintenance contractor to provide design enhancements through small-scale construction projects to existing trails. These improvements should enhance the flow of the Erie Singletrack trail system and reduce future maintenance needs by Town staff. Maintenance activities include but are not limited to repairing/rebuilding berms, rollers, tables, or jumps; adding small features that enhance flow and reduce brake bumps; refurbishing and/or armoring jump lips; changing trail grades to improve drainage; and making repairs after significant/damaging moisture events. The Town will provide maps with the selected trail segments that require work, access points, and any other pertinent information. The Town anticipates needing at least one week of work per year, but contractor selected is not guaranteed annual work
