055-73-57.573201 (C) - Brush Creek Road / Owl Creek Road Intersection Project (Culvert Structure)

This project's scope is to build on the current concept design and complete all the necessary work to complete the improvements.  The design team is to include all disciplines required to complete all the work.  At this point, funding is only available to take the design to the 30% completion stage and address the current needs in the culvert.  Future phases will commence when funding is available.  Immediate corrective work and replacement are needed for the culvert and surrounding area.  The project design must be complete enough that this culvert replacement is consistent with the ultimate project design. This is not just a direct replacement of the existing culvert, as the new culvert will need to accommodate pedestrian and bike traffic under the roadway. This “temporary condition” must be in place and complete until the final roundabout work is approved for construction.

For this RFP, we are defining culvert as

• Replacing the existing culvert designed to accommodate pedestrian/bike traffic.  At this point, the scope does not include tying the new culvert into the nearby pedestrian walks
• Replacing landscaping in all disturbed areas
• Repaving the roads as needed due to the culvert installation
• Utility coordination but not necessarily replacement – if existing utilities need to be realigned, then that needs to be included
• Temp traffic realignment as needed during the culvert replacement
• Regrading as needed for this work so that we continue to have a safe roadway that will require little or no rework to tie into future work at the roundabout.
