Summary of Specifications:
Bids shall be submitted in a sealed envelope, plainly marked with Bidders name, address, date and time of bid opening, and bid number for BAY COUNTY, West End Fire Station Construction Project. No bid will be opened unless accompanied by proof of Florida Department of Transportation qualification (current FDOT certificate of Qualification) in the following work categories: 1) Flexible Paving, 2) Hot Plant-Mixed, Bituminous Structural and Surface Courses, 3) Grading and 4) Drainage for the paving and site work subcontractor/contractor and contractor’s license for the building contractor. FDOT Certification of Qualification and contractor’s license must be attached to the outside of the sealed envelope containing the bid proposal. Proof of payment of Bay County taxes is to be included with your submittal inside the sealed envelope. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Provide labor and materials to construct a complete Fire Station as shown in the plans and specification. Work includes but is not limited to site work to include clearing and grubbing, road and parking lot construction, drainage and stormwater pond construction, paving, striping and traffic control in work zone for turn lane and driveway construction in the FDOT right-of-way, also includes building construction to include all site prep, foundation, structural, roofing, HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, and other specialty work as it applies to fire stations, work includes Portland cement slab construction, water and sewer hookup to public utilities, to include a directional bore under US Highway 98. All paving, grading and drainage work to be accomplished by FDOT certified grading and paving contractors with asphaltic concrete produced in an FDOT certified plant.
