Summary of Specifications:
The City of Miami Beach seeks proposers to develop a pilot program for establishing concessionaires to provide product and services at the Flamingo and Normandy Pools. The pilot program will assist the City to evaluate the possibility of expansion of this service into other park facilities. The pilot program period will commence on May 1st, 2007 and end September 30th, 2007. The hours of operation will be Monday thru Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 7 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to 7 pm.
The City will provide roofed concession stands with refrigerators at both locations. The pool concessionaires shall provide snack type products which may include, but it is not limited to microwavable hamburgers, hot-dogs, turkey burgers, pizza or any other similar products available such as candy bars, chips or drinks. Drinks available for sale shall not, under any event conflict with those certain beverages offered by the City’s exclusive vending machine contract. A list of permitted drinks will be provided during negotiation process. In addition, the pool concessionaires shall offer a healthy product line to include products such as smoothies, fresh fruits or yogurts.
The concession managing group will be responsible for handling the personnel issues, including employment (certified background investigation), training, and terminations.
Persons interested in providing the pool concession services should send a letter of interest that includes information on the products and services that would be offered and the proposed revenue sharing with the City.
