Request for Qualifications (RFQ) No. 26-07/08
The City of Miami Beach is interested in developing a Transportation Element for the Miami Beach Comprehensive Plan. The purpose of the Transportation Element will be to plan for a multimodal transportation system that places emphasis on multimodal transportation systems. Based on the analysis of existing conditions and an assessment of future transportation needs, the outcome will provide a list of improvement projects as well as potential funding sources to address those needs. Altogether the Transportation Element will generate a 20-year multimodal Capital Improvement Program to satisfy the existing and future demands on the City’s transportation system.
In general, the project objectives are:
• Compliance with Florida Administrative Code (FAC) Rule 9J-5.019. • Development of a Transportation Element, including roadway, freight, pedestrian and bicycle plans, planned improvements including local street extensions and connections, needed sidewalks, pedestrian crossings, and bicycle facility improvements; local street connectivity plan, street design standards, functional classification, access management standards, financing strategies, and amendments to implementing ordinances. • Analysis of growth scenarios for transportation impacts, and development of recommended mitigation measures.

Any response received after 3:00 PM on May 28, 2008 will be returned to the consultant unopened. The responsibility for submitting qualifications before the stated time and date is solely the responsibility of the consultant.
The City will not be responsible for delays caused by mail, courier service, including U.S. Mail, or any other occurrence.
A non-mandatory Pre-RFQ Qualifications Meeting is scheduled for May 12, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at the following address:

Attendance (in person or via telephone) to this Pre-Qualifications submission meeting is encouraged and recommended as a source of information but is not mandatory.
