INVITATION TO BID NO. 03-03/04 NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS Sealed bids will be received by the City of Miami Beach Procurement Director, 3rd Floor, 1700 Convention Center Drive, Miami Beach, Florida 33139, until 3:00 p.m. on the 2nd day of December 2003 for: FURNISH AND INSTALL SPECIFIED ROOFING AND RELATED COMPONENTS TO THE BASS MUSEUM FOR THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH Scope of Work: The work specified in this bid consists of furnishing all labor, machinery, tools, means of transportation, supplies, equipment, materials, services necessary to furnish and install specified roofing and related components to the Bass Museum, City of Miami Beach. Work includes: 1. Repointing of masonry walls of the original section. 2. Damproofing of the wall of the original section. 3. Reinforcing laps of base flashing on all roofs of the museum. 4. Coating of base Flashings on all roofs of the museum. 5. Removing counter flashing on roof 7 (section adjacent to roof section 3). 6. Installing and sealing termination bar, and reinstalling counter flashing on roof 7. 7. Repairing any blisters an any of the roof sections. 8. Remove and replacement of roofing and insulation on roof sections 2A, 4 A and 6. 9. Installation of the following: a. 1 layer roof insulation b. 1 layer tapered roof insulation. c. 1 layer roof insulation. d. Crickets installed in designated areas. e. Rework existing drains. f. Cold process modified bitumen roofing system. g. Specified flashings and accessories. Roofing material manufacturer shall furnish service agreement and warranty as specified in the warranty section. Estimated Budget: $69,000.00 Minimum Requirements: Prospective Bidders (General Contractor and/or Sub-Contractors) must have 3 years experience in Roof Projects and submit a minimum of four separate completed project references, each with $50,000 or higher in construction work. The General Contractor and/or Sub-Contractors must have required licenses in order to obtain all required permits for the completion of the project. Bid Guaranty: All Bids shall be accompanied by either an original bid bond executed by a surety company meeting the qualifications for surety companies as specified in Section 5, General Conditions, of this bid document or by cash, money order, certified check, cashier's check, Bid Guaranty Form, Unconditional Letter of Credit (Form 00410), treasurer's check or bank draft of any national or state bank (United States), in the amount of 5% of the Contract Bid Amount, payable to City of Miami Beach, Florida, and conditioned upon the successful Bidder executing the Contract and providing the required Performance and Payment Bonds, each in the amount of one hundred (100%) percent and evidence of required insurance within fifteen (15) calendar days after notification of award of the Contract. A PERSONAL CHECK OR A COMPANY CHECK OF A BIDDER SHALL NOT BE DEEMED A VALID BID SECURITY. A Pre-Bid Conference will be held at 10:00 a.m. on November 13, 2003 at the City of Miami Beach Bass Museum located at 2121 Park Ave., Miami Beach, FL 33139.
