Summary of Specifications:
The Government Street Regional Stormwater Pond at Corrine Jones Park Project is a proposed 2.75 acre stormwater pond project to be constructed on the City of Pensacola's Corinne Jones Park property. In addition, stormwater collection and conveyance systems will be installed within adjacent City right of way to route currently untreated stormwater to this pond for treatment and controlled discharge. Also, various roads within the area of the pond facility, some of which are bid alternates, will receive a new asphalt surface and Government Street between Clubbs St. and Coyle St. will be completely removed and reconstructed to eliminate standing water issues within the roadway. Finally, in contrast to the traditional stormwater facility, the project will incorporate amenities typically seen at a City park. These amenities will include lighting, walking paths, benches, extensive landscaping, and a playground facility. This project's bid alternates include installation of stormwater pre-treatment units, a basketball court, and dewatering of potential contaminated groundwater. Therefore, the work under this contract consists of clearing and grubbing, excavation and grading necessary to create the pond, installation of the new storm water collection/conveyance system, demolition and reconstruction of Government Street, installation of a final asphalt surface course with associated curb and gutter, repair/replacement of driveways, installation of park amenities, and potential installation of various bid alternates. Complete work under this contract also consists of installation of required erosion control features (including sandbags and turbidity barriers), installation of new storm structures, cover and protect storm water inlets, placement of sod, and mill and overlay of existing roadways.
