In an effort to curtail the growing problem of abandoned, neglected and foreclosed properties in Hernando County, the Hernando County Board of County Commission has enacted Ordinance No. 2014-9 establishing a program for the registration of real property in foreclosure as a mechanism to protect neighborhoods from becoming blighted through the lack of adequate maintenance and security of properties.
