Summary of Specifications:
The project calls for full depth reclamation of the existing asphalt and base as depicted on the plans and the remaining areas shall be milled to a depth of one inch. The full depth reclamation material shall be pulverized utilizing specialized equipment that adds a base stabilizer during this process. It will be the contractor’s responsibility to do geotechnical testing on the existing base material and provide a design mix signed and sealed by a registered Engineer in the state of Florida. The mix design is subject to approval by Hernando County Engineering. One layer of 1-1/2’’ SP-9.5 asphalt is to be placed on the stabilized reclaimed base and the one inch milled areas. The project also calls the replacement of culverts and the installation of end treatments which are identified on the plans. Thermoplastic markings shall be installed on cured asphalt after county approval. It shall be the Contractor’s responsibility to provide a Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plan and a chart depicting the project schedule at the pre-construction meeting. Sodding, including watering, of the road shoulders is required on all disturbed areas or as directed by the County.
