Summary of Specifications:
The School District of Okaloosa County (District) is accepting bid proposals to provide all labor, material, and equipment required for the purchase, delivery, and installation of one (1) new outdoor walk-in freezer; and for the renovation of the existing side by side indoor walk-in freezer/cooler combination unit, converting the freezer to a cooler. Conversion will include removal of existing refrigeration and the installation of new cooler equipment, which shall be piped and installed according to refrigeration installation and be tested for leaks. Conversion also includes removing the interior wall that divides the cooler and freezer and trimming out as necessary; sealing off the existing freezer door and repairing the existing cooler door. This project is located at Crestview High School, 1250 N. Ferdon Blvd; Crestview, FL 32536. The new walk-in freezer will be placed outdoors on an existing 9’ x 24’ concrete pad approximately 3 feet above grade and the awarded Contractor must have signed, dated, and sealed engineering instructions to secure the freezer to the existing concrete pad to meet the 130 mph wind load and impact design criteria for the wind borne debris. The Contractor must set the new freezer so that the bottom of the door opens 1/2" above the schools existing deck. The Bidder shall adhere to all requirements, specifications and special conditions stated in the bid package. The Bidder shall be qualified and insured to conduct the work as a Certified or Registered Mechanical Contractor or a Certified or Registered General or Building Contractor who then subcontracts with a Certified or Registered Mechanical Contractor in accordance with the Florida state statue. Any questions related to these requirements will need to be addressed prior to the question deadline for this bid as stated below. The District will be responsible for disconnect and power to feed unit and the final electrical hookup of equipment.
