Summary of Specifications:
BACKGROUND - Okaloosa County contracted with Southern Earth Sciences, Inc., 1438 Balboa Avenue, Panama City, FL (850-769-4773) to complete an asbestos survey of the Old Ft. Walton Beach Hospital. A copy of the completed survey date can be obtained from the consultant.
SCOPE OF WORK - Okaloosa County wishes to enter into contract with a qualified company capable of providing asbestos removal at this site.
Phase I of this work (Senior Center) is currently funded and budgeted. Phase II & Phase III of this work is not currently funded. Bidders are asked to price Phase II & Phase III with knowledge that the Owner (Okaloosa County) will contract for this work as funds become available. Bidders are requested to indicate how long their prices for Phase II & Phase III will be good for.
Southern Earth Sciences in their asbestos report and in full agreement by Okaloosa County (the Owner):
“Removal of asbestos containing materials must be performed by an Asbestos Abatement Contractor licensed by the State of Florida, with certified personnel. ACM abatement must comply with the State of Florida Department of Business 7 Professional Regulation, Chapter 469, licensing and training; Chapter 62-701.520, Waste Disposal Rules; Chapter 62-257, DEP 1999, Asbestos Program and OSHA 29 CFR 1926.1100 (Construction Industry Standard).
