Summary of Specifications:
Airport Information - The Northwest Florida Regional Airport (VPS) is a joint-use, commercial service airport located on the Eglin AFB. It consists of a terminal building, support building, air cargo facility, parking lots and rental car facilities. The airport supports service by six scheduled airlines and serves passengers in excess of 700,000 annually.
Janitorial services at the airport are performed by a combination of County employees and contract services. The county employees, in addition to performing custodial services, monitor the work performed by the contract cleaning personnel. This work is approached in a “teamwork” environment with all parties working toward the common objective of providing the traveling public the highest level of cleanliness possible. Contract cleaning duties are listed in this document but other related duties may be required.
The areas for which the airport, and the janitorial contractor, are responsible include all public spaces in the terminal building, the airport administrative offices, the Airport Operations and Badging Office, the law enforcement offices, airline space within the terminal, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) areas, the USO, the taxicab queuing facility. Custodial work to maintain all of these areas is performed by a combination of efforts by County and contract services as described above. Contractor’s Responsibilities - The following provides the responsibilities of the successful proposer for contract janitorial services at the Northwest Florida Regional Airport. It is very important for all parties bidding on this contract to recognize that the majority of the facilities for which they will be responsible are open to the public during all the hours covered by this contract. Therefore, the methods employed as well as their dress and conduct must be of the highest standards – especially in the areas of safety and customer (passenger) service.
