RFP-Medical Insurance - Medical Insurance for Okaloosa County, Florida

Summary of Specifications:
SOLICITATION OF INSURER INTEREST Group medical insurance proposals are requested by Okaloosa County (County hereafter) for employees, officials, retirees, COBRA persons and their families. Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) plans will not be considered and self-insurance pro-posals will not be considered. BACKGROUND Okaloosa County is located in northwest Florida, in the Panhandle area. The benefits program is to include the Board of County Commissioners, Clerk of Circuit Court, Property Appraiser, Supervisor of Elections and Tax Collector. The Sheriff is not to be included; he purchases coverage separately. The current group medical benefits program has been provided by Blue Cross Blue Shield since October 1, 2000. Two Blue Options plans are offered, one includes Health Reimbursement Ac-counts.
