II. SCOPE OF WORK
a. Design and furnish all materials necessary to construct a bridge with precast or pre-stressed concrete. The total length of the crossing is 170’ with a total deck width of 28’. Items to be included in the bid shall be piling, abutment panels, abutment caps, intermediate caps, wing walls, wing wall caps, bridge decking and barrier rails.
b. Piling supplied shall be in 50’ lengths. For bidding purposes it shall be assumed that 43 pieces of 50’ length piling is required. Should additional piling be required to satisfy loading requirements specified in the bridge design drawings, it will be purchased separately from this bid.
c. Angle iron for cross bracing shall also be included in the bid and shall be 20’ in length. Assume 20 pieces will be required for bidding purposes.
d. Must provide signed and sealed design drawings. Drawings shall specify pile capacity requirements to be achieved during construction. The design load shall be HS20-44 and the bridge shall comply with AASHTO Standard Specifications for Highway Bridges.
e. Guardrail panels, posts and end treatments shall be furnished for both sides of the roadway at each approach. Each section of guardrail shall be a minimum of 81.25’ in length consisting of a 37.5’ thrie-beam section with a 6’-3” transition panel and 37.5’ end anchorage assembly per FDOT Standard Index 400. All hardware and accessories shall be included in the bid price.
f. All materials shall be delivered to the site and coordinated with the Okaloosa County Bridge Construction crew. Materials delivered damaged or improperly fabricated will be rejected on site and shall be replaced with proper materials at no additional cost to the County and in a timely manner as to minimize construction delays.
