Summary of Specifications:
This ITB is a 2 step process. The first step is the required Pre-Qualification documents. The second step is the Affidavit Bid Summary Form fully executed and the 5% Bid Guarantee. A pre-qualification along with a firm fixed price bid (both in a separate sealed envelopes and clearly marked) must be submitted by all entities interested in bidding on the project. The Wayfinding Signage system for UWF will consist of multiple sign types including but not limited to Gateways, Vehicular and Pedestrian Directional’s, Information Kiosks, Interpretive Graphics and Regulatory signage. Material quality of these sign types will be heavy metal fabrication, assembly, engineering services and automotive quality paint finishing. Installation of all signage shall conform to all DOT and MUTCD standards as required and all signage structure and foundations shall be certified by a structural engineer to adhere to State of Florida requirements. The fabricator may make recommendations and/or changes to the details as shown in the drawings with written approval of the University. The fabricator assumes all responsibility for signage integrity, engineering, field verification and measurements, etc. The Design firm and the University shall review all shop drawings for conformance with the design intent of these drawings only and will not be held responsible or liable for any results of construction from working drawings, materials selection, shop drawings, or any other agreements. Upon review of the completed pre-qualification submittal, prospective bidders will be evaluated on the information provided, their team’s experience and qualifications from two perspectives. First perspective is from a Bidder/Contractor aspect and the second perspective from that of an architectural sign fabricator. Prospective Bidders must provide specific responses to all the information requested in the separate Pre-Qualification package. In order to be selected for “pre-qualification” status, the Prospective Bidder must affirmatively demonstrate to UWF’s sole discretion, the technical expertise, and verifiable direct responsible experience as either a prime contractor or fabricator on similar types of projects. Only those firms selected by UWF as “pre-qualified” entities will have their separate second sealed envelope clearly marked “Firm Fixed Price Original” bids opened. All firms not selected as “pre-qualified” shall have their separate sealed fixed price bids returned to their place of business unopened.
