SCOPE OF WORKThe City of Boise is soliciting bids from qualified vendors/contractors to provide face-to-face language interpretation, and document translation for all foreign languages. These services may be utilized by thirteen (13) departments within the City of Boise. The City of Boise utilizes these services for a variety of customer needs and scenarios. Many situations may involve confidential and sensitive information regarding City customers.
The City of Boise strives to provide a minimum 24 hour advanced notification of the date/time, language and location for interpretation services, but seek quotations that include requests for “on demand” services (both in-person and remote), when feasible.
Services must be culturally appropriate, as the City of Boise deals with many diverse populations in unique and adverse situations and seeks to provide interpretation/translation services that will facilitate communication across both linguistic and cultural divides.
Title VI of the City Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, or national origin in any program or activity that receives federal financial assistance. Thus, the City is committed to providing access to all government services and programs for Limited English Proficiency (LEP) persons.
